Daño oxidativo y contenido de antioxidantes durante la senescencia de cotiledones de soja (Glycine max, var Hood)

Resumen


Durante la senescencia de cotiledones de soja, el contenido total de clorofila disminuyó de 307 ± 23 a 115 ± 23 ug.mg-' pf luego de transcurridos 7 y 20 días de desarrollo, respectivamente. El contenido de clorofila b decreció un 34% durante el período indicado, mientras que el contenido de clorofila a mostró una disminución del 65,8%. El contenido de
proteínas, expresado por cotiledón, se mantuvo constante durante los 7 días iniciales de desarrollo y disminuyó significativamente al cabo de los 10 días. La velocidad de salida de electrolitos no mostró diferencias significativas durante los 15 días iniciales y aumentó en forma significativa luego de transcurridos 20 días de desarrollo, sugiriendo alteraciones en la permeabilidad de las membranas. El contenido de sustancias reactivas al ácido tiobarbitúrico, considerado como un índice de la peroxidación de lípidos, mostró un aumen to del 95% entre los días 7 y 10, sugiriendo que la peroxidación de lípidos de membrana podría ser un estadio temprano del deterioro producido durante la senescencia. El contenido de a-tocoferol, uno de los principales agentes protectores contra procesos de oxidación de las membranas biológicas, aumentó 4 veces en los cotiledones entre los 10 y los 20 días de desarrollo de las plántulas. Los resultados presentados en este trabajo sugieren que el/los mecanismo/s conducentes a la senescencia en cotiledones de soja involucrarían el desarrollo de condiciones de estrés oxidativo que llevarían a una respuesta antioxidante, a los efectos de limitar el deterioro oxidativo.
